Hi, for anyone who has the Addy doll, I have some questions about her hair:
1. Is it textured and more hard to work with,
2.Is it hard to put back in it's original style,
3. Does is tangle easy and
4. Is it easy to brush out?
Thanks so much!
Edited to say: SO sorry for the double post!

It is textured, but I think easier to work with because it shapes easier (if that makes sense.)
Her original style is very easy to go back to. Simply braid starting at the bottom and fold under.
I have never tried to brush it. I have coarse frizzy hair (much like addy's) and I wouldn't dream of brushing it while dry, so same with her.

Hair polish (found at many beauty supply stores like Sally's) is a great detangler and adds shine with greasiness to a doll's hair like Addy's. It is especially good for older dolls whose hair has gotten dry and coarse at the ends (ie Kirsten/Addy). If you don't want to wet your doll's hair, this is a good alternative if you need to get tangles out.

sorry, I meant to say WITHOUT greasiness, not with greasiness. Hair polish is not greasy, it is light and sort of slippery. You just use a small drop or two.

I find that the textured hair isnt any harder to work with than the other. I think that it doesnt tangle as easily.. I have two dolls with it, my AGOT and Addy and both of them always have smooth styles, it is kinda fun because there is so much you can do with it. pull it smooth, poof it up, braid it... in some ways its easier to style than the other girls hair is. Brushing has never been a problem for me. Both my dolls are PM, but I wouldnt think that Matell dolls would have much difference in their wigs.

My Addy is not PM and I just love her hair. Her original hairstyle is very easy to get back together. French braids are SUPER easy to get with her. I have done so much with her hair...But never, ever, EVER put small multi braids in her hair. It takes forever to do BUT it takes a month just to get them all out. and if you think it will make a nice small wavy effect like I did, forget it. It comes out in a matter of one minuet without even touching it. Here is a link to my Club Pictures ablbum that shows 2 hairstyles of Addy that I've done. Pics 6 and 7.

I have a PM Addy and her hair is paradise!
It has so much body, that I can give her a new do with almost no effort.
But then again... this comes from a woman that has been complining for over 45 years about having thin, limp hair.... me biased??? NOOOO!!!
LOL!

Thank you so much everyone! I now has some great tips and advice, and when I do get Addy, I will know how to take care of her hair without damaging it since it is much different compared to my other dolls!

Brush with extreme care (okay then again my Addy is pm)... even with the doll brush...My poor Addy is from her first release but I really waned to change her hair for diff occasions (and come on you see the doll's hairstyles in the catalogs and you think that looks easy) anyway I was not prepared for how much damage could be done to textured hair so her hair is actually quite frizzy and I managed to somewhat get it back into the original style
